The mission of Carolina Care Plan® Inc (CCP) is to deliver quality healthcare
plans that are accessible, user-friendly and affordable to South Carolina.
Employer groups seeking health plans can choose from the Choices AccessSM
product line. Choices Access offers a variety of options for groups to
select a plan that best suits the needs of their employees. With our
direct-access HMO product, Carolina Access®, members can seek
services for medical care from any participating provider. With our
point-of-service (POS) product, Carolina Added Access®, members have
access to non-network providers. The Carolina HDHPSM (high-deductible health
plan) product is available for groups to pair with tax-deductible health
savings accounts. CCP provides group health coverage for several statewide
associations, including several chambers of commerce. CCP also has health plans
for individuals, called Carolina Direct®. These plans are available
for adults and their dependents, as well as just for kids.
CCP offers a variety of products that feature wellness benefits such as
well-baby visits, all medically appropriate immunizations, annual physicals,
annual visual exams, and preventive screening mammograms. CCP also offers SuperWell®
Health Management Programs for those who are pregnant or
diagnosed with chronic conditions, such as asthma, diabetes and emphysema.

CCP was founded in 1984 as Physicians Health Plan of South Carolina. Today,
